Olympic

Field six at the Estadio Félix Capriles is where Olympic's footballers settle their regional business. The club keeps its own turf too, synthetic pitches off Avenida Rafael Urquidi and along the Costanera, but for the matches that count under the Cochabamba Football Association it takes the walk to Capriles like every other side in the Ascenso Division.

Olympic's name carries more weight in volleyball, where it has been treated for decades as one of the sport's standard-bearers nationally, indoor and beach alike, against a local rival in San Martín. Football is the newer, smaller branch of the same club, competing in the Copa Simón Bolívar and the Copa Cochabamba rather than the national first division. Sergio Lara presides over the Ascenso side.

The football section's one real mark came in 2022, when it won the first edition of the Copa Cochabamba, beating Wilstermann's reserve team 4-2 in the final. Locally the team is sometimes called La Naranja Mecánica.

All of it traces back to July 1959, when Club Deportivo Olympic was founded in Cochabamba as a multi-sport club.
