«Les Capistes»
The Stade Francis-Rongiéras holds close to ten thousand people, and on the days CA Périgueux draw a crowd against Trélissac or Bergerac in the Derby Périgourdin.
The club took its present shape in 1901, when Roger Dantou and Roger William Magnanou formalised what earlier associations from the 1890s had already started.
The silverware is thin but real: a Championnat de France de Deuxième Série in 1906, a Groupe B title in 1993, and, after a spell in Pro D2 in the early 2000s and back-to-back Fédérale 1 semi-finals in 2007 and 2008.
Lilian Camberabero passed through both as a player and later as coach, one name among several internationals — Georges Peyroutou, Léon Jean Larribau, Henri Lacaze among them.
Ten thousand seats, one century, and a single word the town still uses for its team: Capistes.
