Youth football in Štěchovice took organised shape in 2013, when the Povltavská fotbalová akademie was set up. The club had a senior side to match: only in 2020 did it gain one, formed by merging with TJ Štěchovice, the town's old club going back to 1926, along with several other local sides. What had been white and black on TJ Štěchovice's shirts became white and green under the new name.
Most of what Povltava FA can point to as history still belongs to TJ Štěchovice. In 2011 that side won the Prague-West regional championship and went up to the Czech Fourth Division, then finished the 2012–13 season as runners-up in its group.
Games against FK Benešov carry more weight locally than the table position would suggest.
