Presov

The line runs from Snaha Prešov in 1928 through Tatran, ZPA and Dragon Prešov before folding as HC Prešov Penguins in 2019. It did not stay that way long: in 2021 Róbert Ľupták, who owned HC 07 Detva, moved the Extraliga licence from Detva to Prešov, and HC 21 Prešov took the place of the old club for the following season.

The Koňare, as they are known locally, play out of Zimný štadión Prešov. Marek Zagrapan, a Prešov native arriving from Poprad, was named the new club's first captain, and Ján Sýkora came across with the licence transfer from Detva. Ernest Bokroš took the coaching job. The rebuilt club found its first silverware quickly, winning the Slovak 1. Liga in 2024–25. Further back, in the Slovak State years of 1939–40 and 1940–41, Tatran Prešov twice finished runners-up in the top division. Between those eras stood Igor Liba, a Hall of Fame forward who wore the Prešov jersey for ZPA and Dragon before closing his career there in 2003.

Across the region, no fixture carries more weight than the one against HC Košice.
