Grzegorz Pasiut wore the captain's armband through the run that GieKSiarze had waited half a century for: back-to-back Polish titles in 2022 and 2023, the second gap-free, the first coming 52 years after the club had last stood at the top. Behind him in goal for both was the Canadian John Murray.

The team now plays out of Satelita, the smaller rink tucked beside the Spodek dome that Katowice is better known for internationally; renovation work finished in 2024 replaced the roof and seating, though capacity there has never stretched much past 1,500. It is a modest home for a club that still measures itself against Zagłębie Sosnowiec in what both sides call the Silesian Derby, a rivalry that predates most of the players currently on either roster.

Since 2023 the title has slipped away again, lost in the final to Unia Oświęcim in 2024 and to Cracovia in 2025 — the twelfth and thirteenth times GieKSa has finished a season as runner-up.
