Stade Toulousain

Antoine Dupont arrived at Stade Toulousain's academy from Castelnau-Magnoac in 2017 and has since become the shorthand for what the club expects of itself, and who has carried Les Rouge et Noir through their most decorated stretch. He plays in a shirt whose colours trace back to the ceremonial robes of Toulouse's medieval capitouls, red and black, worn under the name of Ernest Wallon, the club's first president, after whom its home ground is named.

The club itself came together in 1907, when Stade Olympien des Étudiants de Toulouse merged with Véto-Sport, itself already a union of two earlier student sides. Growth pushed the team out of the old Stade des Ponts Jumeaux in 1980, when the local government reclaimed the land for a motorway, and by 1982 the club had built its own ground at Sept Deniers, one of the few stadiums in France a rugby club owns outright. For the biggest nights, the derby against Castres Olympique or a European final, Toulouse still moves the occasion to the larger Stadium Municipal.

No club has won the French championship more often: twenty-five titles, the first in 1912, the most recent in 2026. Three times, in 1996, 2021 and 2024, Toulouse has taken both trophies in the same season.
