Vicenza

Rangers Rugby Vicenza are back in Serie A Élite, the top tier of Italian rugby, after beating Lazio in the 2023 promotion playoffs. The club went up to Serie B in 2011 and to Serie A2 a year later. They now play top-flight rugby in front of an 800-seat ground, the Rugby Arena.

The club began in 1974 with former players of Recoaro Rugby XIII, a side that had played the 13-a-side code in the 1960s. In the mid-1990s the club went back to the name Rugby Vicenza. The Rangers name came later, with a partnership with the Battistolli security group.

The club has no Scudetto or Coppa Italia. Captain Bruno Doglioli was banned for life for tackling the referee, Maria Beatrice Benvenuti.

Petrarca are the Derby del Bacchiglione opponents and Rovigo the Derby veneto.

The best-known name linked to the club is Tommaso Allan, the Italy fly-half born in Vicenza. His mother, Paola Berlato, played for the Vicenza women's team. His father, William Allan, played for Thiene and Padova.
