HLM

No derby name comes attached to ASC HLM, but the club has a history of scrapping upward through Senegalese football's tiers. Named for the Habitation à Loyer Modéré housing estate in Dakar that gave the club its home and its nickname, Les Hlmois, HLM built its record one promotion at a time: National 2 in 2016, National 1 in 2022, with a Ligue 2 title back in 2002 along the way.

The Coupe du Sénégal triumph in 2012 stands as the club's single biggest result, a cup run that outstripped anything the league table had offered before or since. Nine years later came the Coupe HCCT, and in 2009 the club reached, but lost, the final of the Coupe de l'UFOA, a rare continental outing for a side otherwise built on domestic grind.

Founded in 1991, HLM has spent more of its history climbing between divisions than settling into one. That pattern of promotion, relegation and promotion again suits a club whose identity was never about a rivalry across town but about the estate it carries in its name.

Matches are played at the Stade des HLM, a 5,000-capacity ground tucked into the HLM 5 and 6 neighbourhood of Dakar, close enough to the streets that gave the club its nickname that the two are barely separable.
