About the player
Franco Rossi's move to Toluca came only months after he was one of the standout names in Uruguay's second tier. Playing for Cerro Largo in 2025, the forward scored 10 goals in 31 league appearances, a return that made him one of the competition's revelations and led directly to a transfer to Liga MX. Toluca paid a fee of around €863,000 for him, and he took the number 27 shirt at the club.
Rossi, born in Pando, came through the youth ranks at Rentistas before moving into Montevideo City Torque's under-19 side. His senior career began away from Montevideo City Torque, on loan at Tacuarembó in the Uruguayan Segunda División, where he spent two seasons and scored 7 goals in 49 appearances.
His time at Toluca has been brief. In July 2026 he was loaned out again, this time to Chapecoense in Brazil for the remainder of the year, switching to the number 29 shirt. He has yet to add a senior cap for the Uruguay national team to his record.
