Ruben Lescano

Rubén Lezcano came up through Club Libertad's academy and made his professional debut in July 2022 against Resistencia SC. Between 2022 and early 2025 he made around 88 appearances and scored 18 goals, and he was part of the squad that won three straight Paraguayan Primera División titles, in 2022, 2023 and 2024. He finished as Libertad's top scorer in the Clausura with five goals and contributed four goals in six matches during the Apertura run, including a brace against Club Nacional.

That form led to a move to Fluminense in Brazil in February 2025, a transfer confirmed by Libertad's president, with the Brazilian club taking on the Paraguayan under a contract running through to the end of 2029. He returned to Paraguayan football in February 2026 on loan at Olimpia for the season, with an option to buy included in the deal.

At international level, Lezcano was part of the Paraguay under-23 squad that won the 2024 CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament, securing qualification for the Paris Olympics, though he did not feature in the final against Venezuela. He received his first call-up to the senior national team in March 2025, named by coach Gustavo Alfaro for World Cup qualifying fixtures, but is still waiting for his debut.
