Weverton

Weverton spent a decade at Palmeiras, but the season that defined him arrived on loan from nobody: called into Brazil's Olympic squad as a backup, he took over the gloves after Fernando Prass was injured and started all six matches as the hosts won gold at Rio 2016.

His path ran through loan spells at Remo, Oeste and América-RN before a longer stay at Portuguesa, where he won the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B in 2011. Atlético Paranaense gave him his first extended run as a starter, more than 300 appearances and a Campeonato Paranaense title in 2016, before Palmeiras signed him for around R$2 million in December 2017.

At Palmeiras he became one of the most decorated goalkeepers of his generation in Brazilian football: three Campeonato Brasileiro Série A titles, four Campeonato Paulista crowns, two Copa Libertadores wins, a Copa do Brasil, a Recopa Sudamericana and a Supercopa do Brasil. He was named the country's best goalkeeper in three separate years and picked up the Bola de Prata three times, recognition that ran alongside his Team of the Year selections in both the domestic league and the Libertadores. He also reached a Copa América final with the national side in 2021.

He left Palmeiras as a free agent and signed for Grêmio in January 2026 on a contract running to the end of 2028, then won the Campeonato Gaúcho in his first season at the club.
