Trier

Trier is back in the Basketball Bundesliga after winning the ProA in 2025, beating Science City Jena 2-0 in the finals.

That earlier version, TBB Trier, grew out of the basketball department of TV Germania Trier and built a run of success through the 1990s and early 2000s, taking the BBL-Pokal in 1998 and again in 2001. The green and white colours carried over from that era survived what came next: in March 2015, TBB Trier filed for insolvency with a deficit running past €800,000, and relegation followed as the proceedings played out. A new club, Gladiators Trier, took on the license and started again in the ProA.

Promotion has already sharpened the fixture list. The Derby an der Mosel against Telekom Baskets Bonn has taken on fresh edge now that both sides share a division again, alongside the more local Rheinland-Pfalz-Derby with EPG Guardians Koblenz.
