PS Karlsruhe Lions

The Lions are still in the ProA, the second tier of German basketball, in a place they had already earned their way out of. In the 2023–24 season they beat the Fraport Skyliners 2–0 in the final series and took the title, which brought sporting promotion to the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL). The licence for 2024–25 was then refused on infrastructure and financial criteria, and the team stayed where it was.

It is the basketball department of the multi-sports association Post Südstadt Karlsruhe, which has run the sport under its banner since 1961. The department that preceded it split off in 1993 to form BG Karlsruhe, who played in the BBL from 2003 to 2007, and PSK itself has never reached that level. The team took the name PS Karlsruhe Lions in the summer of 2014. Three consecutive promotions between 2014 and 2017 then carried them from the Regionalliga to the ProA.

Lachlan Dent set a ProA record in 2024 with 10 three-pointers in a single game. Horst Wolf, a former German international, is the older name attached to the club.

The club's blue and gold are worn at the Europahalle, which holds 3,000 for basketball, and the supporters there call the team Das Löwenrudel, the Lion Pack.
