Alexander Kwabena Baidoo Djiku

In 2022 Alexander Djiku was named Ghana Footballer of the Year and Foreign-based Footballer of the Year at the Ghana Football Awards — playing his club football at Strasbourg, where he made 117 league appearances across four seasons.

He came up through the youth system at Bastia, playing for the reserve side from 2012 and making his first-team debut in the 2013/14 season. Forty-five league matches followed before he left in 2017 for Caen, where he played 59 times in two seasons.

His move to Fenerbahçe came on a free transfer in July 2023, after his Strasbourg contract expired; he signed for three years with an option for a fourth and made 51 league appearances in Istanbul. In September 2025 he left for Spartak Moscow, the transfer announced on 9 September for a reported fee of around €2.5m plus add-ons, on a deal running to June 2027 with an option to 2028. In his first season there he won the Russian Cup.

Born in Montpellier, Djiku plays for Ghana, making his senior debut on 9 October 2020 in a friendly against Mali in Antalya, which the Black Stars lost 3–0. His second cap came three days later against Qatar, and a month after that he featured in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan. By the end of March 2026 he had won 38 caps.
