Fagner

Fagner made his name at right-back with a rare mix of longevity and consistency, spending most of his career shuttling between Corinthians and short spells abroad before a permanent move to Cruzeiro. He came through the Corinthians academy and made his senior debut in 2006, before a move to PSV Eindhoven brought him an Eredivisie title and the Johan Cruyff Shield in 2007–08, though his game time there was limited. A loan to Vitória yielded no appearances, and it was at Vasco da Gama, which he joined as a free agent, that he found regular football, winning the Série B and the Copa do Brasil. A €3.0 million move to VfL Wolfsburg followed in 2012, where he made 26 Bundesliga appearances, before a loan spell took him back to Vasco.

It was his return to Corinthians in 2014, initially on loan and made permanent the following year, that defined his career. He went on to make over 500 appearances for the club, winning two Brasileirão titles, three Campeonato Paulista titles and the Copa Sudamericana, and picked up the Bola de Prata as the league's best right-back in 2017. That form earned him a first call-up to the Brazil squad, and he went on to start at the 2018 World Cup after an injury to Danilo, later part of the squad that won the 2019 Copa América.

His long Corinthians spell ended in early 2026, when his contract there was terminated and he signed permanently for Cruzeiro after initially arriving on loan. He had suffered a fibula fracture in July 2025 during that loan spell, but recovered to win the Campeonato Mineiro with his new club in 2026.
