About the player

The 2015 promotion with NK Krško is the piece of Sikošek's career that set everything else in motion. He had come up through NK Brežice, moved to Krško as a teenager and made his senior debut there in 2012; by the time he left in 2016 he had 83 appearances and two goals to his name, and a Slovenian Second League title that carried the club up into the PrvaLiga.

What followed was a period of movement. FC Koper came next, for 18 appearances, and in January 2017 he went to Denmark with Brøndby IF. The Danish spell never settled: a loan to NK Domžale, and eventually a permanent return to Domžale in 2020. There he played 35 matches and scored twice.

The move to NK Maribor in 2021 gave him the most stable years of his career. He made 73 appearances and scored three goals, and in his first season the club won the PrvaLiga title. In 2025 he spent the season on loan at HNK Gorica, playing 16 matches, before the move to NK Varaždin in January 2026. Early match reports there singled him out.

Left-footed, though some accounts credit him with the use of both, Sikošek has also played for Slovenia, appearing in the UEFA Nations League and in friendlies against Poland, Sweden, Serbia and Croatia. None of his transfers involved a disclosed fee.
