Ilya Pomazun

Spartak Moscow trailed nobody in the shootout of the Russian Cup final on 24 May 2026 because of a goalkeeper who had started the match on the bench. Ilya Pomazun came on against Krasnodar for the penalties alone, behind Alexander Maksimenko for the 1–1 draw itself, and saved from Juan Boselli and Kevin Lenini to settle it 4–3 for Spartak. It was the second shootout of that run he had decided: in the semi-final against Zenit he also saved penalties to send Spartak through.

He arrived at Spartak on 2 February 2025 from CSKA Moscow, on a two-and-a-half-year contract for a fee of around €1.5 million. The move ended an association that began in 2012, when he left the Torpedo-ZIL youth set-up for the CSKA academy after eight years there. He signed his first professional contract with CSKA in 2017 and won the Russian U19 Championship with the club's youth team, but the senior route stayed narrow: ten official appearances for the first team between 2017 and 2024, and a place in the squad for the 2018 Russian Super Cup as third-choice goalkeeper, without playing in the final.

The football came at Ural Yekaterinburg. He joined on loan in August 2020 and made 17 appearances in that first season, then returned on a fresh loan in June 2021 and stayed until the end of 2023/24. In total he played 117 matches for Ural — 101 in the Russian Premier League, 15 in the Russian Cup and one in the promotion/relegation play-offs. He was ranked third among goalkeepers in the List of 33 Best Football Players in the Russian Championship for 2022/23.

His single cap for Russia came on 16 October 2023, a 2–2 friendly draw with Kenya.
