About the player
Junwei Lu is a product of the Shandong Taishan academy, and his path to the first team has run entirely inside the club. He joined the reserve side, Shandong Taishan II, in February 2024, and within the same month was promoted to the senior squad.
Since then, the reserve team has remained his main stage. Playing in China League Two, Lu scored around nine goals and added two assists in roughly 52 appearances. At senior level in the Chinese Super League, his opportunities have been sparse: four appearances totalling just 14 minutes, without a goal or an assist to his name.
He has also been called up to the Shandong Province XI, a regional representative side, though that selection sits apart from his club career rather than marking any transfer.
The more notable moment of his young career came off the scoresheet. While playing for the reserve team, Lu was sanctioned by the Chinese Football Association with a three-match suspension and a fine of 15,000 RMB for violent conduct after pushing an opponent.
