Rodrigo Garro

Rodrigo Garro made his name in Argentina before crossing the Atlantic, and it was a goal against River Plate in the Copa Libertadores, in a 2-0 win in August 2022, that first put him on the continent's radar while he was still at Talleres de Córdoba.

He came through at Instituto Atlético Central Córdoba, where he spent four years, from 2017 to 2021, before Talleres signed him for 300,000 euros on a four-year deal in January 2022. There he became a regular, and by the time Corinthians moved for him in January 2024, the fee involved had grown well beyond what he cost his previous club.

At Corinthians, Garro established himself quickly as a creative presence in midfield, and 2024 turned into the best season of his career. He was named to the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A Team of the Year, picked up the Bola de Prata, and won the Prêmio Craque da Galera and the Troféu Mesa Redonda as the competition's best foreign player.

His form drew interest from Europe. In February 2025, Zenit came in with an offer of 25 million euros, and Garro himself asked to be allowed to leave. Corinthians turned the move down, keeping him in São Paulo despite the request.

The following spring brought a setback. In April 2025, he was diagnosed with tendinopathy in his right knee, an injury that required a period of rehabilitation in Madrid and kept him out of action for an extended stretch.

Left-footed by trade, Garro's shooting numbers tell a more balanced story, with his attempts split almost evenly between both feet. He wears the number 8 shirt at Corinthians, the club he has represented in more than ninety matches since his arrival.
