About the player
Ronald dos Santos Lopes began his senior career at Nova Iguaçu, where he helped the club lift the first phase of the Taça Santos Dumont in 2016 before short spells at Nacional de Muriaé, Ponte Preta and Juventus-SC took him around Brazilian football's middle tiers. Fortaleza took him on loan in August 2020 and made the deal permanent the following year. At Fortaleza the defensive midfielder became a title winner, taking the Campeonato Cearense in both 2021 and 2022.
The Fortaleza years also came with spells away from the club: loans to Cuiabá in 2023, where he made 32 appearances and scored three goals, then to Mirassol and Criciúma in 2024, the latter yielding 32 matches, a goal and two assists. In January 2025 Vitória signed him permanently from Fortaleza on a contract running to July 2028, making more than 65 appearances across the year. He reached a Copa do Nordeste final with Vitória in 2026, though Fortaleza, his former club, denied him the trophy. In June 2026 he returned to Criciúma, this time on loan from Vitória for the remainder of the season.
Ronald plays as a defensive midfielder, right-footed, and has built his career on consistency and squad rotation across a series of loans.
