About the player
Bahia gave Zeca his start, and it paid off quickly: he won the Campeonato Baiano with the club in 2015. A move across the city to Vitória brought a second regional title in 2017, before his career took a winding route through Goiás and loan spells at Criciúma and Oeste. A stop at Londrina in 2021 produced another trophy, the Campeonato Paranaense, and a brief spell at Mirassol followed before Zeca left Brazil altogether for South Korea.
At Daegu FC he found his footing abroad, and the move to Pohang Steelers in 2023 turned into the most productive spell of his career: he helped the club win the Korean FA Cup and scored 12 goals in the K League 1.
The first season in China brought only four league appearances and a single goal. In 2025, though, Zeca appeared 23 times in the league and scored 12 goals — matching the tally that had made him such a wanted man in South Korea. He has not featured for Brazil's senior national side.
