Al-Nahda

The club itself is a merger: Al-Buraimi Club and Mahdah Club combined on 12 March 2003 to form Al-Nahda, giving the border town a single side strong enough to compete rather than two smaller ones splitting support. The nickname, Al-Aneed — "The Tenacious" — has stuck through the years that followed, including a run to the semi-finals of the AFC Cup in 2007-08 that remains the club's best continental showing.

The chairmanship has sat with Sheikh Ahmed bin Nasser Al Nuaimi.

Al-Nahda's closest rivalry runs against Al-Rustaq, the other main force in the Al Batinah North Governorate, though the fixture has never picked up a derby name of its own.
