Al Seeb

Al-Seeb enters the season as the team every rival in the Oman Professional League has to catch, most recently in 2024–25. Little about the current run suggests it will slow: the squad that carried the club through 2022 still sets the standard the rest of the division measures itself against.

That squad's peak came in a single year. In 2022 Al-Seeb took the league, the Sultan Qaboos Cup and the AFC Cup in the same season. The AFC Cup mattered beyond the trophy itself — it put an Omani club at the top of a continental competition.

The club's roots are less tidy than its recent record. Four Seeb sides — Watan, Butolah, Hilal and Fida — merged in January 1972 to form the club, though the paperwork making it official took another three decades, with registration only completed in 2002. Shihab bin Tariq Al Said has overseen the club since 1982, having joined as a player seven years earlier.

There was an earlier spell of dominance too, before this generation: three straight Sultan Qaboos Cups from 1996 to 1998. Al-Seeb has since added the AFC Champions League and the Arab Club Champions Cup to its fixture list, competitions that place the club's domestic form under a harsher light.

Five league titles now sit in the cabinet.
