The Palace of Sports "Trud" on Lenina Street holds 5,000 people.

Founded in 1990 as the volleyball side of the Irkutsk State Economic Academy, it has gone through the names Elektrouiaz, Angara, Lokomotiv-Angara, Loko-Angara and Fortuna before Russian Railways took the club under its wing in 2022 and it became Locomotive-Angara.

Under current head coach Elena Neverova, the team continues in that role, feeding players upward rather than holding onto them.

On the court itself the results have stayed modest by comparison. First place in the Higher League "A" Siberia–Far East zone in 2010 remains the high point of the senior years, alongside a run of fifth-place finishes through the 2000s and a runner-up spot in Higher League "B" in 2019. Against Zabaikalka and Yenisey in the regional Cup of Siberia and the Far East, Angara I has yet to turn that development work into the title that would match the players it has sent elsewhere.
