Bosna

Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, sits in a valley ringed by the hills that carried the 1984 Winter Olympics, and its volleyball has carried the name Bosna since 1948, when the club took shape in the city.

Bosna has made its home in the Premijer liga, the top tier of Bosnian volleyball, standing among the sides that contest the country's highest division rather than the lower rungs of the sport.

Europe found Bosna in the 1996/97 season, when the club took part in the European Cup. That campaign fell barely a year after the Dayton Agreement had closed the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, at a time when simply fielding a side able to play continental volleyball again counted for something on its own, before a single point was won or lost.

Bosna's business today still runs through that same domestic calendar, season after season, inside the Premijer liga.
