Kakanj

Between 2001 and 2013, OK Kakanj put the Premijer Liga title and the Kup BiH together nine times in the same season, a run that left little room for anyone else to plan around them. The league itself fell to them fifteen times, the cup close to that number, and the two rarely arrived apart: a season in Kakanj tended to end with both trophies or with questions asked.

The club traces back to October 1979, and still appears at times under the older tag OK Kakanj 78, a habit that outlasted the correction. What followed the founding was less a slow climb than a settling into the top of Bosnian volleyball once the league restructured after independence, with the first Premijer Liga crown arriving in 1999 and the next dozen years rarely passing without one.

The doubles thinned out after 2013, and the gap before the next league title, in 2022, ran longer than any stretch the club had allowed itself in the previous two decades. Whatever changed inside the squad in those years, it did not stop them from finding their way back to the top of the table when it counted.

Green and black have stayed the club's colours throughout, unchanged across the eras of dominance and the quieter years between them.

Matches are still played in the Sportska dvorana KSC Kakanj, on Šehida Street, in a town whose name the club has carried through every one of those finishes.
