Denizli has more than one women's volleyball side, and the one that answers to the city government is Denizli Büyükşehir Belediyespor, the team of the metropolitan municipality. Denizli Uğur Spor, founded in 2008, plays a division below, in the Second League. The provincial governor's office runs an amateur women's team, which took second place at the 2024 Public Sports Games. Neither wears the red and white of the side that plays in the Turkish Women's Volleyball First League.

Local media call this team Denizli'nin Sultanları, the Sultans of Denizli. Its home hall, the PAÜ Arena Spor Salonu, belongs to the university rather than the club. It stands on the Pamukkale University campus and holds 5,000 spectators.

Preparation matches have brought the club up against the second teams of Fenerbahçe and Vakifbank. Those are friendlies, and they give a First League squad a look at how the big Istanbul programmes train their reserves.
