Eczacıbaşı are the opponents Fenerbahçe's volleyball players measure themselves against at senior level, and the rivalry now reaches the second tier. In the 2024/25 season the two clubs' reserve sides met in the final of the Women's 2nd League. Fenerbahçe's second team had reached the last match of the competition against the side from the other big Istanbul programme.

That final matters because this squad carries no honours of its own, and the results it is measured against belong to the first team. The seniors won the FIVB Club World Championship in 2010 and the CEV Champions League in 2011-12. Since then they have gathered 15 Turkish championships. The reserves play in a league where those titles count for nothing, but the shirt and the expectations are the same.

The colours are the club's yellow and navy blue, and the badge is the main Fenerbahçe SK one. The reserve side has no nickname. The seniors are called the "Sarı Melekler", the Yellow Angels, and that name is not passed down.

The squad's job is to prepare players for the first team. Talya Olcay, Defne Artan, Bengisu Sarıkaya, Elif Baskın and Zeynep Erenoğlu are among the names now on the current roster. Home matches at the 7,000-seat TVF Burhan Felek Voleybol Salonu in Üsküdar are played in a hall far bigger than a second-league side would normally need.

The reserve team was created in 2019 as the second squad of the senior women's side, so that younger players had a competitive league to play in before reaching the first team.
