1. Ligi Women (Turkey) 2026/27

The competition is the highest professional women's volleyball league in Turkey, governed by the Turkish Volleyball Federation. It sits at the top of the Turkish volleyball pyramid, having succeeded the Turkish Women's Volleyball Championship which ran from 1956 to 1984. The league was founded in 1984, with its inaugural season held in 1984–85. The current season format involves 14 teams playing a double round-robin regular season. The top eight teams qualify for the playoffs. The quarter-finals are played as a best-of-three series. The semi-finals and finals are played as best-of-three and best-of-five series respectively, with the first team to win two or three matches advancing or winning the title. Promotion and relegation exist: the bottom two teams from the Sultanlar Ligi are relegated to the second-tier 1. Lig. The 1. Lig is divided into groups, with the top two teams from its final stage promoted to the Sultanlar Ligi. Eczacıbaşı is the most successful club in the league's history with 16 titles. VakıfBank is the current champion and holds 13 titles, placing them second all-time. Fenerbahçe holds 7 titles.

The league is distinct from the men's Efeler Ligi primarily due to its global dominance; Sultanlar Ligi clubs, particularly VakıfBank, Eczacıbaşı, and Fenerbahçe, are the most successful in European women's volleyball history, with VakıfBank winning the CEV Champions League five times. In contrast, the men's league's most successful club, Halkbank, has won the Champions League once. Both leagues currently feature 14 teams and allow a maximum of six foreign players per squad, with five on the court simultaneously.
