Both league titles came in the same stretch, 2020 and 2021, when the women's team won back-to-back championships of the 1. liga, the second tier of Czech volleyball. The squad behind that run included the middle blocker Adéla Vašutová, on the roster from 2015 to 2024, and the opposite Petra Špačková, who joined in 2019; both later moved on to Prague sides, Kukučová and Špačková among them finding places at clubs such as VK Lvi Praha and TJ Orion Praha once their spell in Dobřichovice had run its course.
The men's side has taken longer to build toward the same level. Promoted to the 1. liga in 1998, it has settled there without ever dropping far, rarely finishing outside the top four in the years since.
The volleyball section traces its own paperwork to 23 May 1990, registered with the Czech Volleyball Federation more than nine decades after the wider Sokol organisation in the town had been set up. The two dates sit side by side in the club's own account of itself.
No fixture carries a derby name, but matches against TJ Slavia Hradec Králové are the ones the club singles out as bad-tempered, with disciplinary incidents and running arguments with officials a recurring feature. Those games, like the rest of the home calendar, are played out at Sportovní hala BIOS on Pražská street.
