Volleyball team
Gentofte 2
Club · Denmark · 1. Division East
Between 2018 and 2021 the first team at Gentofte Volley won four Danish championships in a row. Gentofte 2 wear the same blue and belong to the same club. They are its women's reserve side, and they play in the 1. Division East and the Landspokal Cup.
The club itself was put together in 1992 from two smaller ones, Gentofte Volleyballklub Roadrunners and Nørre Gymnasiums Volleyballklub. The first national title came in 1996, four years later, and a second followed in 1999.
The men's team then went eight years before the next one, in 2007. That season it won the cup as well, and it managed the same double in 2015, 2019 and 2020. The cup was also taken in 2006, 2010 and 2017. The 2015 title began a spell of seven championships in six years, with 2016 and the four straight from 2018 to 2021 completing it.
Home is Gentoftehallen, which holds 1,500.
The men's team has won 9 Danish championships.
