Koge

Amalie Langbjerg Lachenmeier, a Danish national team player, is among those who have pulled on the shirt of Team Køge Volley, known as TKV.

The club began in 1972 as a project of a few sports-minded teachers at Ølby Skole. It was called Rishøj IF for its first 35 seasons. In 2007/08 it became Team Køge Volley. It has won numerous Danish youth championships and NEVZA youth titles, and Maia Stripp and Nora Bjerregård Øland are two more names from that pipeline.

The senior side took longer. It won the 1. Division East and reached the top-tier VolleyLigaen for the first time in 2013. Six years later the women's team took bronze at the NEVZA Club Championships in London, the Nordic zone's club competition. In 2021–22 it added bronze in the Danish Championship.

Holte IF are the opponent Køge measure themselves against. Local media describe those meetings as an underdog facing a "big team".

The women's team now plays in Hall 3 of the Køgehallerne, the Spar Nord Arena on Ved Stadion, which holds 1,121. It is the same building the youth sides grow up around.
