Hapoel Ramat Gan

Twice Hapoel Ramat Gan have won the State Cup. In 2002–03 they took it from the second division, holding Hapoel Be'er Sheva to 1–1 and winning 5–4 on penalties. The second of those cups carried them into Europe, where the run ended in the third qualifying round of the Europa League against Estoril of Portugal, 0–1.

The league title came much earlier, in 1964, and it stands alone. That same spring, on 28 March, the club drew its record crowd of 9,000 for the visit of Hapoel Petah Tikva — a figure that says something about where Ramat Gan sat in Israeli football then, and how far the ground has been from filling since.

Between those two eras the club spent long stretches climbing back. Liga Leumit was won in 1962–63, in 1988–89 and again in 2011–12. There were third-division championships too, in the 1990s and the 2000s.

Founded on 23 April 1927, under the British Mandate, the club now represents two municipalities rather than one, Ramat Gan and Givatayim, at the National Stadium on Bugrashov Street.
