Hapoel Katamon Jerusalem

Under the name it carries now, Hapoel Jerusalem , the club plays on.

Not quite from scratch in name, either. For its first two seasons it went by Hapoel Katamon/Mevasseret Zion, before dropping the second half of the title in 2009.

The climb ran through four divisions. Liga Gimel came first, in 2009–10, then Liga Bet the following season, then Liga Alef in 2012–13, which carried the club into Liga Leumit. Relegation followed, and the Liga Alef title had to be won a second time, in 2014–15, to get back.

The trophy that mattered beyond the promotions arrived in 2018–19, when the club took the Toto Cup Leumit . Roughly a decade separated the fifth-tier title from that one.

Home is Teddy Stadium in Malha, with 31,733 seats. The red and black of the shirts gave the side its nickname, the Red Devils.

What the supporters have not managed, through all of it, is a season in Ligat ha'Al.
