Filip Ondráček and the rest of the group that lifted the Czech U18 title in 2016 stayed together as they grew up, and it is that generation which pushed SK Kojetín into the 1. liga for the 2024/25 season, the first time the club has reached the second tier of Czech men's volleyball. Eight years separate the junior triumph from the promotion, and the club treats the two as one story: the same players who won as cadets carried the senior side up from the 2. liga.
Kojetín itself is a small Moravian town, and the club's rise has outpaced the room built for it. The team plays at the Městská sportovní hala on Hanusíkova street, where the stands hold 83 people — a number that sits oddly against a side now facing opponents such as Volejbal Přerov, VK Prostějov and VK Šantovka Olomouc on a regular basis.
No nickname has attached itself to the team the way "Hanáci" has to other clubs from the region; locally it is still just SK Kojetín, or "volejbalisté Kojetína." The senior men's side carries no league title and no Czech Cup run of its own — everything achieved so far belongs to the age-group teams that fed it. What Kojetín has not yet done is prove itself at the level it has just reached.
