KSV Women

KSV's women play in the 1. Division Øst, the second tier of Danish women's volleyball, and the D1 team carries the club's name at that level. Four more women's teams, D2 to D5, sit beneath it, so the club runs to five in all.

The full name is Københavns Studenter Volley. The club calls itself young. It is older than its papers suggest, though. Its statutes carry the date 19 September 2018, but the men's side had already reached the quarter-finals of the Danish Cup in 2010/11 and finished ninth in 2013/14. Nothing comparable has come from the women's team. No title or cup win is attached to it, and its league place is the substance of the story.

Training is held in English. In a city with a large international student population, that keeps the door open to people who arrive without a word of Danish and want a game. City Volley, the Copenhagen volleyball network, lists KSV as a cooperation club alongside KV 61 and Pan Volley.

Home games are played in Kedelhallen on Nyelandsvej in Frederiksberg, a hall with no permanent stands. When a match or event needs spectators, chairs are set out, and the hall is approved for 660 people.
