Liider

AB Premium/Rae Vald is the name written on the team sheet these days, but anyone who has followed volleyball in Rae vald long enough still calls the club Liider, from 2013/14 to 2020/21. Before that it played as Liider/Rolltrans, going back to at least the 2006/07 season, and the club traces its line to Tallinna Liider, champions of Estonia in 1994, and beyond that to Tallinna Silikaat, who took the title in 1989.

The legal body behind the team, MTÜ Peetri Võrkpalliklubi, was only registered in April 2012. That gap between the club's playing history and its paperwork: the team keeps going under whichever banner sponsorship or circumstance provides, and the players and the place stay the same.

That place is Järveküla, part of Rae vald in Harju County, just outside Tallinn. The team trains and plays at Kindluse Spordihoone, a hall that seats 40 — a number that makes clear this is club volleyball built on commitment rather than spectacle, run without an official website and followed mainly through a YouTube channel rather than any wider media presence.

Now competing in the Esiliiga, Estonia's second tier, the side carries a name and a championship pedigree that belong to a different era of Estonian volleyball, while its present is measured in a much smaller hall, a much smaller division, and the work of keeping a volleyball team alive in a small municipality week to week.
