Twelve seasons after it stopped being Deportivo Petare, the club still answers to Los del Bloque. It has since become Deportivo Miranda, the fifth name in a line that began with Italian immigrants who founded Deportivo Italia in 1948 and ran a squad known then as Los Azules.

The trophies belong almost entirely to that first identity. Four league titles came between 1961 and 1972, along with three Copa Venezuela wins, and the club was the first Venezuelan side sent into the Copa Libertadores, in 1964. The fifth championship arrived much later and under a different badge: in 1998–99, as Deportivo Italchacao, it beat Deportivo Táchira 7–2 on aggregate.

The single afternoon most often retold has no trophy attached to it. In 1971, Deportivo Italia went to the Maracanã and beat Fluminense, the Brazilian champions, 1–0. Venezuelan football has called it the Little Maracanazo ever since.

Giovanni Savarese passed through here before his career took him abroad. So did Cristian Cásseres.

Home is the Estadio Olímpico Nacional Brígido Iriarte, El Brígido to everyone in Caracas, a 10,000-seat ground in a city where the club shares the map with Caracas FC — the opponent from the disputed 2008–09 final, and the fixture that still draws the sharpest reaction.

Much of the club's present work sits outside the results column: a project in the Petare neighbourhood built around schooling and pulling young players off the streets. There is no official site to follow it on; announcements go out through social media, one post at a time.
