Ramiz Sadiku

Pristina's football hierarchy runs one deep: KF Prishtina at the top, and some way below, in the lower tiers of the Kosovan league system, KF Ramiz Sadiku, second-most successful club the city has produced. The name honours Ramiz Sadiku, a law student who organised anti-fascist resistance in Kosovo during the Second World War and died in 1943, later declared a National Hero of Yugoslavia. Records on the club's own start diverge — most databases give 1950, when a sports society was formed at the Ramiz Sadiku industrial combine, while club literature points to 1974 as the year the football section was registered as a separate entity, adding that some sources still cite the earlier date. Both readings agree on what came after: as GIK Ramiz Sadiku, the club won the Kosovo League — then the third tier of Yugoslav football — in 1982-83, then dropped out of the Yugoslav Second League the following year after finishing bottom. It has not climbed back to that level since, settling into Kosovo's second division, where a run to the Kosovo Cup semi-final in 2021-22 stands as its best result of the post-independence era.

The club's academy produced Kushtrim Mushica, who joined at six years old in 1991 and stayed until 1998, when he left for FC Prishtina; he went on to win two caps for Kosovo in 2014 and built a playing career across Albania and North Macedonia. On the bench, Elon Berisha took charge in 2018 at the age of 26, making him the youngest head coach of a first team in Kosovan football history, and stayed four years before departing in 2022.
