«The Binos»
Forthbank Stadium, on the southern edge of Stirling, holds 3,808 supporters, 2,508 of them seated. Stirling Albion moved there in 1993, ending 48 years at Annfield Stadium, the ground they had used since the club's formation.
The club was formed in 1945 to replace King's Park, Stirling's senior side until its ground was struck by a German bomb in 1940 and the club never resumed. Albion took over the fixture list and, within two years, won the old Division Three.
Almost nobody calls them anything but The Binos, though for much of the twentieth century they carried a second nickname, the Yo-Yos, earned by bouncing between the second and third tiers so often that it stuck harder than any result. Eight Second Division titles, spread between 1953 and 2010, and two Third Division championships, in 1947 and 2023, make up the bulk of the honours board. None of it came in a cup: the furthest Albion have gone in the Scottish Cup is the quarter-final, and the League Cup and Challenge Cup have never been won. Their one season among the country's elite peaked at 12th, in 1958-59.
The rivalry that matters locally is with East Stirlingshire, the other club to carry the county's name, and with Alloa Athletic, met most years in the Stirlingshire Cup, a competition running since 1883 — older than Albion themselves by decades.
