ŽNK Mura

Slovenian women's football has spent most of the past decade being decided in Prekmurje. ŽNK Mura took the Slovenian Women's League again in 2025–26 and paired it with the Slovenian Women's Cup — an eighth domestic double. Thirteen championships and twelve cups have gone to the same corner of the country's north-east.

The club that won them has changed its name twice and its colours once. It began in 1999 in Odranci, became ŽNK Pomurje in 2003, and played in yellow and blue through the run of titles that started in 2005–06. On 1 January 2023 it merged with the men's club NŠ Mura, took the name it carries now and swapped the yellow for black and white. The nickname followed the shirts: Čarno-bejle, the black and whites, in the dialect of the region rather than in standard Slovene.

The merger also brought the club to Fazanerija in Murska Sobota, a 4,506-capacity ground shared with the men's side. Since moving in, Mura have won the league every season.

The fixture that matters is against ŽNK Maribor — the Štajersko-prekmurski derbi, Styria against Prekmurje, a derby with no love lost about eighty kilometres of road.

Before any of the black and white, there was Tanja Vrabel. She finished as the league's leading scorer six seasons running, from 2009 through 2014, a stretch that covered the club's first hat-trick of championships and three cups alongside them.
