Budai Farkasok

Budai Farkasok reached the top flight of Hungarian handball only once in their history. The Western Group of the NB I/B fell to them in the 2021–22 season, and with it promotion to the NB I — the first time the club had played among Hungary's elite.

The Wolves grew out of Budaörs, a town on the edge of Budapest, in 2010. That grounding shows in the export list: internationals such as Ákos Széles and Lajos Nánási, and Japanese international Yuga Enomoto. The current squad keeps the same international mix, led by Hungarian captain Ádám Juhász alongside Croatian international Marino Marić and Sweden's Herman Josefsson.

Home matches are played in burgundy and white before a crowd capped at 1,000, a small enough gate that the derby with Ferencvárosi TC stands out on the calendar — a fixture sharpened by transfers passing between the two clubs over the years. Budakalász FKC, just down the road, supplies the more local rivalry.

The Hungarian Cup has stayed out of reach. Budai Farkasok have gone no further than the round of 16.
