Canberra FC

Twenty-seven ACT League Premierships sit behind the club from Deakin. The first title arrived in 1962, four years after Canberra's Croatian community put the side together, and the trophies of the 1960s and 1970s came at intervals of three or four years. Then the run of the 2000s: seven premierships between 2001 and 2005 and again from 2007. The most recent came in 2026.

The names on the shirt changed more often than the results did. Croatia Soccer Club lasted barely a year before becoming SC HOPE, then Croatia Deakin, then Canberra Metro, then Canberra Deakin. From 2006 the club played as Canberra FC. In 2020 it went back to Canberra Croatia.

Ned Zelic did the same. Neither stayed long, which is the usual shape of things at a club of this size.

The NPL Grand Finals of 2022, 2023 and 2024 came in succession, the club's first sustained hold on the knockout title after the 2018 win.

Matches against Canberra Olympic FC are called the Canberra Classico, and the table tends to go out of the window in those. Deakin Stadium holds 1,500 — small enough that the crowd is close to the touchline, and a full house for a Classico is most of the club's support standing in one place.
