They won State League One in 1999 and again in 2003, each title carrying promotion, and left the top flight in 2009.

Canberra Croatia beat the Knights on penalties in the 2023 grand final, 6-5 after a 1-1 draw.

2024 was also the year the Knights won the Federation Cup for the second time, sixteen years after the first, and became the first ACT club to reach the final rounds of the Australia Cup. That took them to the round of 32 and a tie against Macarthur FC of the A-League Men.
