Canberra Olympic

Canberra was still being built out as a public-service town when its Greek community put a football team together in 1956. The blue and white it plays in were taken from the Greek flag. The name moved with the club's circumstances — Downer Olympic from 1973, plain Olympic again from 1991 — and settled as Canberra Olympic in 1997.

Home is O'Connor Enclosed, and it holds 1,000.

2016 was the year that carried furthest beyond the territory. Olympic took the premiership, the grand final and the Federation Cup in the same season, then went to the semi-finals of the FFA Cup — the national knockout that puts amateur and semi-professional sides against A-League opposition. No club from Capital Football had gone that deep. The following year brought another premiership and another Federation Cup, but the grand final was lost, and the 2018 decider went the same way.

The gap closed in 2025, when Olympic won the CPL grand final. The women's side reached the NPL Women's Capital Football final in the same year.

Across the honours the club counts, the pattern is consistent rather than concentrated: first ACT grand final in 1958, the earliest premiership in 1975, the first Federation Cup in 1979, and further wins in every decade since. Seven premierships, seven grand finals, seven Federation Cups.
