Karmiotissa

Panagiotis Tachtsidis, capped for Greece, is the name attached to Karmiotissa's rise. The club was put together in 1979 by refugees from Pano Polemidia.

The turn came in the 2010s. A runners-up finish in the Third Division in 2011–12 was followed by the title itself the next season, and by 2015–16 the club had added a Second Division championship, repeating it in 2021–22 to reach the top flight. Cup football brought one real highlight, a run to the quarter-finals in 2014–15 before AC Omonia ended it.

The club's own ground in Pano Polemidia holds only 1,500, well short of what First Division licensing requires, so home matches have mostly moved to the Ammochostos Stadium in Larnaca. Ownership has moved too: Dmitry Punin took control in 2022 and for a time added orange to the club's colours in line with his company's branding; Stavros Demosthenous then owned the club until his death in October 2025.

Karmiotissa has no fixed derby of its own, but sharing Limassol with Apollon, Aris and AEL puts it in among clubs with far longer histories in the top division.
