Los Andes

Los Andes go into the new season on the back of the 2024 Torneo Apertura title in Primera B Metropolitana, settled on penalties against Cañuelas, 3-2 — the club's first silverware in years and a step back up Argentina's divisional ladder after a run spent shuttling through the lower tiers.

The red-and-white vertical stripes date to 1922; before that the shirt was sky blue with a broad white band. The new design, with its dense pattern of thin stripes, earned the club its nickname, Milrayitas — "a thousand little stripes." The crest carries no stars.

The club's only previous title of note came in 1938, in Primera C, the fourth division, when Los Andes won 28 of its 30 matches. Three promotions to the Primera División followed over the decades — in 1960, 1967 and 2000, the last of them sealed with a final win over Quilmes in the 1999/2000 Primera B Nacional. The high point in the top flight came in 1968: sixth place in Zone A and a place in the Nacional Championship, with forward Alberto Obberti finishing the tournament as its top scorer on 13 goals.

Cup football has brought two brief runs worth noting: a first-ever group-stage progression in the Copa Argentina in 2015, following a 2-0 win over Fénix, and a round of 32 the following year before a 2-0 loss to Estudiantes.

Los Andes was founded on 1 January 1917 in Lomas de Zamora, in southern Greater Buenos Aires — a name that, despite appearances, has no connection to the city itself.
