Guillermo Farré's side sit in the Chilean Primera División, a top flight they have won twice and left only once, when relegation in 1970 sent them down and they came straight back up as second-division champions in 1972.

The red, green and black were chosen to mimic the Palestinian flag. That origin is still audible in the nicknames the terraces use — Tino-Tino, but also Baisanos and Árabes.

The strongest year was 1978. Under Roberto Coll, with Elías Figueroa in the side, Palestino took the league title. What followed was a long barren spell: no trophy at all until the 2018 Copa Chile, forty years later.

Home is the Estadio Municipal de La Cisterna, where the authorised capacity is 6,000.

The fixtures that carry most weight are against Unión Española and Audax Italiano. The Clásico de Colonias is what those meetings are called, and the history between them adds an edge that league position rarely explains.
