The trophy that made the rounds in Pietrowice Wielkie in the spring of 2025 did not stay in a case for long.

None of it happened on home ground in the strict sense. Pietrowice Wielkie has no hall built for handball, so the Pietrowiczanki, as they are known locally, play their matches some way off in Kuźnia Raciborska, inside the sports hall attached to the Jan Wawrzyn elementary school. A proper venue is planned back in the village itself, with 550 seats, though for now the team's biggest nights still belong to someone else's gymnasium.

On the court, the fixture that sharpens attention every season is against MTS Żory, treated by supporters as the derby regardless of what the league table says.

The club runs separately from LKS Start Pietrowice Wielkie, the football side founded in 1924 that shares the name and the village, but not the handball section's short, fast climb. That climb is still measured from Kuźnia Raciborska, in red and blue, waiting on a hall of its own back home.
