Five thousand and seventy-four seats ring the Estádio do Clube Desportivo Trofense.

The club had been registered a fortnight earlier, on 28 September 1930, with the Porto Football Association. The 1935/36 season brought a halt to activities — the stadium in disrepair, the support thinning out — and Trofense did not return until 1950, when a new ground gave it somewhere to play again.

What followed took decades to build toward a single season. Trofense had already picked up regional honours along the way — a Terceira Divisão title in 1991/92, a Segunda Divisão title in 1996/97 — but 2007/08 was different: champions of the Liga de Honra, the country's second tier, and with it a first-ever place in the Primeira Liga. The stay lasted one season, ending in 16th and relegation, but the club had reached the top flight it had spent 78 years working toward.

Red and blue on white remain the colours on the shirt, the same identity carried since a stadium in Trofa first opened its gates to a football club with nowhere yet to play.
